MCS certification required — SK registers everything for you
Solar PV
Sized honestly. Performing as quoted.
A typical 4kW domestic solar array in the North East generates around 3,200–3,600 kWh per year, enough to cover most of a home's daytime electricity use. With the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG), excess generation is sold back to the grid.
SK doesn't oversell on panel count. The right system is sized to your roof orientation, available space, and your household's consumption pattern. A properly sized system costs less upfront and delivers a better return.
3,400 kWh
Typical annual generation, 4kW North East install

Estimated Savings
What could you save?
| Setup | Estimated annual saving |
|---|---|
| Solar PV only | £400–£600 |
| Solar PV + battery | £600–£900 |
| Solar PV + battery + heat pump | £1,000–£1,500+ |
Based on current electricity and export tariff rates. Actual savings vary by home size, orientation, and usage.
Battery Storage
Store your solar. Use it when you need it.
A home battery stores the solar energy your home doesn't use during the day and makes it available in the evening when you'd otherwise be drawing from the grid at full tariff rates.
For homes with a heat pump, a battery also enables off-peak charging, storing cheap overnight electricity to run the heating the following day.
Systems SK installs:
- Tesla Powerwall 3 (13.5kWh, expandable to 54kWh)
- GivEnergy home batteries (5.2kWh, 9.5kWh, 13.5kWh)
- Fox ESS and SolarEdge systems
- Retrofit battery to existing solar arrays
80%+
Self-consumption
A battery raises solar self-consumption from ~40% to 80% or more.
£200–£500
Extra saving per year
Typical additional saving on top of solar PV alone, at current tariff rates.
10 yrs
Manufacturer warranty
Leading batteries carry a 10-year product warranty as standard.

Had solar PV and a battery installed. The advice was honest. They didn't oversell on panel count, just told me what would work for my roof. Everything done in a day, all electrics signed off, and export payments started almost immediately.

Very straightforward from start to finish. The survey was thorough, the system was sized to what my roof could actually take, and the install team were in and out in under 8 hours. Generating and exporting from day one.

Retrofitted a battery to our existing solar array. SK handled the DNO application and SEG registration. Everything was explained clearly and the paperwork was all sorted without us having to chase anything.
